1930s 1940s Vintage Classic Black Rayon Dinner or Evening Dress - Md
This lovely simple black dress ( from the late 30s or early 40s) is a great classic staple to add to any wardrobe. The expert pleating and drapery of this faux wrap style is just so elegant. It creates such a gorgeous silhouette! The fabric is lightweight and feels like rayon. No label tag. While the dress has a metal side-zip, it still needs to be pulled over the head. As such it would likely best fit a Medium, but please see measurements. I do believe it is meant to have a bloused look to the fit. Model is modern size 4/6.

Bust: about 38 inches but somewhat open given V
Waist: about 30 inches
Hips: about 42 inches
Length: 48 inches back of collar down (though hem is slightly longer where the the gather drapes down).
Sleeve Length: 18 inches
Good Vintage Condition - Overall wear and faint fade to fabric (like what’s expected from something that has been washed a few times). Some small snags, holes and areas of wear spots found. There are also a few very faint marks on the piece that would not come out. Minor wear to the interior of the garment as well (to be expected). A few loose threads here and there, but they don’t seem to be affecting wear. The side of the skirt with the drape and gather at the front is slightly longer at the hem - I think this is intentional though! The faux wrap part that gathers at the side is just tacked on, not a flaw, just something to note.
