1920s Antique Vintage Inky Navy Blue Wool One Piece Bathing Suit or Swimsuit - XS

$169.00

A lovely example of a 1920s bathing suit. The inky navy blue color is super dark and makes this an elegant vintage summertime staple! The piece is a pull on and because its woolen it does have some give! You do want the fit to be somewhat snug though so it fits well while swimming! The is no maker label tag on the piece, but there is a tag that says “Guaranteed Pure Wool Service”. Model is modern size 4/6 (or small) for reference and it was just a hair too snug for comfort when on, but especially so in getting it on and off. As such, I would suggest to size down an inch or two from her measurements at a minimum given that I believe it would likely be best for a modern XS instead! Please see measurements.

Measurements from flat lay, but there is some give so read carefully!!

  • Bust: 22 inches (model is 34 b for reference)

  • Waist: 22 inches (model is 26 inches for reference)

  • Hips: 29 inches (model is 37 inches for reference)

  • Length with straps: 28 inches *there is no give in this direction given the way the wool was knit!!!

Good Vintage Condition - There is some overall wear to the item. Some minor really small marks to the piece that did not come out with cleaning. Some are white, which almost look like an issue with the dye. Some slight pilling on the exterior of the garment and more intense pilling to the wool on the interior. The interior also really likes to collect lint. There appear to be some past repairs to the piece, but they are very small and I personally did not notice until I was examining VERY closely and saw slightly different color threads.

All measurements are approximate as they are taken flat - for garments specifically this means where applicable (bust, waist, hips) has been doubled unless stated otherwise. If you are uncertain about fit and/or need more measurements please ask! If it is provided in the listing, models and/or dress form sizes are used as a point of reference only. Please remember that all bodies are different so always defer to the measurements I provide and check them against your own, preferably on a similar style garment. If you need more information about my measurements and vintage sizing please refer to my FAQs section under my Shop Policies page and ask me, I am here to help!!
