1930s 1940s Vintage Le'Vine Plum Purple Lace Flutter Cape-like Sleeve Dress with Belt - Sm
An absolutely stunning vintage 1930s (possibly early 1940s) dress in the most beautiful shade of plum. I just love the simplicity of the silhouette with the addition of the unique fluttering sleeves and long dagger-like collar. The contrast of the shell belt buckle on the piece is just the right touch. The dress is a pull over piece, featuring snap closures at the side as well as the top front of the bodice. All the buttons are decorative. The lace is absolutely lovely, though please note it is delicate and is not lined, so you may want to wear a slip underneath like the model. Label is for Le’ Vine. Would likely best fit a modern Small given that its a pull over, but please see measurements. Model is a moderns 4/6 and dress form is a modern Extra Small for reference.

Approximate Measurements :
Bust: 36 inches
Waist: 30 inches (can cinch with belt though)
Hips: 34 inches from flat lay (35 inches when measured on model)
Length: 41 inches from back of collar, down
Sleeve Length: about 9.5 inches
Good vintage condition - Overall the piece presents beautifully and seems wearable but a lot of work has been done to it to restore it to its current state that I want you to be aware of. First, the piece has been re-dyed as the garment was extremely color faded. You can see that the tag is also dyed. There is some areas of wear to the lace - but the worst of this has been repaired to the best of my abilities - most of these repairs are found on the back of the bodice and the sleeves and are noted by the slightly darker thread than the dress. The thread dyed slightly darker than the rest of the piece so these mends are ever so slightly visible. All this said, I do think while the garment is delicate - obviously because its lace- it is still wearable. You may find I missed a few teeny tiny holes for repair, but if I did its minimal. It is also likely that over time and with wear you will have to repair the lace - just like any vintage wear and repairs are inevitable. There is some tarnish to the back of the buttons and the buttons do like to droop some. The snaps at the side are original to the piece, but I added the snaps at the bodice because there was nothing to hold the piece closed otherwise. There are some very small and slight chips to the edges of the shell belt buckle. A few loose threads here and there, but these should not affect wear.
All measurements are approximate as they are taken flat - for garments specifically this means where applicable (bust, waist, hips) has been doubled unless stated otherwise. If you are uncertain about fit and/or need more measurements please ask! If it is provided in the listing, models and/or dress form sizes are used as a point of reference only. Please remember that all bodies are different so always defer to the measurements I provide and check them against your own, preferably on a similar style garment.
