1940s 1950s Vintage Navy Blue Velvet Beret Style Headpiece
Navy blue velvet is always a good idea. This lovely late 40s or early 50s headpiece is a great addition to any evening outfit! The soft velvet is complemented with an interesting metallic embroidered stylized butterfly or leaf piece. The hat is formed with an internal wire around the rim, with one little wire piece that hand down and helps fasten to the head. I believe its meant to be worn like a beret, but it does over just sit upon the head There is no label. It would likely best fit upon the head with a hat or bobby pins.

Measures about 6.5 inches ear to ear
Good Vintage Condition - The piece has some overall wear and very slight discoloration. The velvet does not all go the same direction, but I honestly am not sure it was ever meant to. It does exhibit some crushing, and around the applique it does have a slight bit of glue residue. There are some dents to the piece on both sides. The metal side piece does have a bit of wear to the fabric around it, with a tiny bit of the inner metal frame showing. The applique has some tarnish and wear as well.
