A lovely light blue bishop sleeve blouse. The piece features pin-tucks in front and pleating in back. Buttons in front and at the wrists with brass-toned buttons. Buttons on the sleeves act more like cuff-links. There is also a tie at the neck. Fabric feels like a possible rayon or rayon blend, but there is no content tag to be certain. Label is for Opera Original and says vintage size 38. It would likely best fits a modern size Large, possibly an Extra Large, but please see measurements. Look is meant to be a bit loose fitted and bloused, so keep that in mind for sizing. Model is modern size 4/6 for reference.

Measurements (flat measurements are pictured)
Bust: about 44 inches to keep pleat in-tact in the back
Waist: 42 inches
Hem : about 46 inches (there is no button closure here for a secure fasten as its meant to be tucked in at this point)
Length: about 23 inches from shoulder down
Sleeve Length: about 25 inches (this is meant to be long as it allows for a more bishop sleeve look!)
Fair vintage condition- The piece presents beautifully and seems to be wearable as is but would likely be best to be worn for costume or simply to use it as a study piece. There is some overall wear to the item and the fabric with a cluster of holes on the back (this is really obvious from the inside of the garment - see last photo) and a few small pinholes and wear spots in other places. Additional wear is exhibited by minor seam pulls and tiny rips - specifically underneath the collar and at the collars edges. There are various marks and spots on the piece in multiple areas, the most obvious to me are what unfortunately appear to be paint residue in multiple places- possibly from a roller brush? I have cleaned this piece repeatedly with multiple techniques and still have not been able to lift them even a little bit. There are some pulls to the fabric, including some very small ones at seams. Some repairs seem to have been made as well. The buttons at the sleeves look to be more like home-made french cuffs as one side features a standard button and the other side has the brass buttons like the front of the blouse - they are removable. There is also some color fade present - to my eye this seems most noticeable to the sleeves - to me this was best shown in the flat -lay image. Fabric likes to wrinkle, so hang it up as soon as you receive it.
All measurements are approximate as they are taken flat - for garments specifically this means where applicable (bust, waist, hips) has been doubled unless stated otherwise. If you are uncertain about fit and/or need more measurements please ask! If it is provided in the listing, models and/or dress form sizes are used as a point of reference only. Please remember that all bodies are different so always defer to the measurements I provide and check them against your own, preferably on a similar style garment.
