1940s Vintage Creamy White Ivory Whiting & Davis Mesh Handbag or Purse
For the collector - a coveted chain mesh bag by Whiting & Davis! The ivory-white (I think enameled) color coupled with the gold tone clasps make this an excellent go to piece for spring as it would pair with almost anything!! The piece features an interesting metal handle that is the same color as the body of the bag. It closes with a classic kiss clasp on the frame. Bag has both a stamp on the frame and a tag that is labeled “Whiting and Davis”. It is also stamped “MADE IN USA”. Should be able to hold a smart phone (fits mine- a 13pro).

8 inches across (measuring the internal fabric as its a tad smaller than the mesh portion) x 6 inches high (without handle)
Good Vintage Condition- Some overall wear to the bag. There is some general wear, marks and tarnish to the various metal components of the bag. The enamel has some slight discoloration in places as well as marks and small areas where its worn off. The interior of the bag does not always want to lay flat, but this shouldn’t be an issue when its full of your personal effects anyways. The interior does exhibit wear (not seen from the outside!)- namely color fade and a few marks as well as what look to be some very small pinpoint holes to the fabric. The tag does have some wear as well. I highly recommend since it is a collectors piece, that it is used sparingly and stored with proper archival techniques.
