1950s 1960s Vintage "Miss Tall America" Red-Pink Rose Print Cocktail Dress - Sm
A lovely vintage dress for both Valentines Day and the coming Spring! The dress overall has a sort of dark pink tone to it, but the rose print is slightly darker, with an almost a red hue. The lovely cap-like sleeves and the pleating and little bow in front really give just the right amount of detail to this dress to set it apart. I am uncertain of the fabric content of the dress, but it feels (and sounds) almost like a taffeta. The skirt portion is lined with what feels and looks like Pellon stabilizer to give the pleats and the skirt portion of the dress more structure. The dress zips up the back with a metal zipper. Labeled for “Miss Tall America” and marked a vintage size 10. Would likely best fits between a modern Extra Small and Small, but please see measurements! For reference model is modern size 4/6 and it felt a hair tight in the waist.

Bust: 34 inches from flat lay, but about 36 inches trying to account for the darting
Waist: 25 inches
Hips: 37 inches trying to keep the pleats intact
Length: 44 inches (measured from top of shoulder and straight down)
Sleeve Length: about 3 inches, the are scalloped
Good vintage condition - Some overall wear to the dress with perhaps a teeny bit of color fade, though to be honest it was really hard to tell for me for sure. There are some markings to the piece that did not come out with cleaning - most of these are at the edges of the garment but some found on skirt too - see last two pictures for most obvious ones. There is some wear to the inner seams as well as the pellon stabilizing fabric. Wear to paint on zipper. Because of the internal stabilizing fabric that give the skirt structure, the fabric does like to wrinkle, so hang it up as soon as you receive package!
