1950s Vintage Catalina Cotton Swim Suit - Lg
A 50s Catalina Swim suit! This adorable piece is made of soft black cotton with an orange and red pattern. There is boning to the bodice. Metal zipper up the back and adjustable button straps. The swim dress is a skirt with attached bloomers underneath. Label is Catalina. Best fits a modern Large. Model is modern size 4/6 for reference.

Bust: when not stretched, but accounting for cup size its 36, stretched it's up to 40 inches (there is elastic/smocking at sides.
Waist: about 32/34 inches
Hips: shorts underneath about 42 inches
Length with straps: 31 inches
Good to Fair Vintage Condition - The piece presents beautifully and is certainly still wearable. The biggest issue is that the elastic at the sides seems to be dry rot... though with the smocking there, it still has a decent amount of flexibility. There is some overall color fade and wear to the piece, a few minor pin holes where it looks like it was taken in (and then out again) at some point. The button holes may need some reinforcement eventually as you can see from the photo they do have some wear. The elastic at the legs and the metal zipper appear to be in great shape for now!! Some marks on tag. Priced accordingly for condition. Obviously, it has been cleaned since being modeled!
