1950s Vintage Bright Blue Velveteen Fit and Flare Cocktail Party Dress- Sm
A lovely winter holiday velvet party dress. The gathering at the bodice is enhanced by a lovely bow and a tiny little v cut. The skirt is great for twirling around in and the 3/4 length dolman style sleeves have the loveliest gathering detail at the inside edge. Zips up the back with a metal zipper. Color is almost like a cerulean blue and fabric feels like velveteen (a lower pile velvet basically). The skirt portion is lined with an attached white slip. There is no label or size tag. It would likely best fit a modern small. The model is modern size 4/6 for reference.

Bust: 33 inches, there is some darting at the chest. Model is 34b and while it worked, it felt a tad bit tight.

Good vintage condition - Presents and photographs beautifully and can be worn as is, but there is some overall wear and discoloration throughout which was VERY difficult to capture in images given the fabrics sheen. Additionally, there are some faint marks and tiny spots of wear and crushing to the velveteen as well as some marks and spots on the inside of the piece. The added slip was not hemmed in the same manor as the velveteen fabric, though based on how it was stitched into the dress it looks original. The slip did poke out a tiny bit, but I feel if one wore this with a crinoline it would be less obvious. Some minor wear to interior and yellowing at the underarms.
