1950s Vintage Emile Marigold Yellow & Cream Silk Dress - Md
Golden silk, say no more! This beautiful silk and cream dress features geometric motifs. The dress is a fit and flare style and still has its original belt. It zips up the back with a metal zipper. Dress feels like raw silk. Label is for Emile. Dress tag says vintage size 11, but the dress would likely best fit a modern Medium. For reference the model is a modern 4/6 and it was a bit loose in the chest. You may want to wear a slip underneath as it is not lined.

Hips: relatively open given dress style
Length: 41 inches
Belt Length: about 28-31 inches, depending on the hole used.
Fair vintage condition- Presents beautifully and would likely make a great costume or study piece. There is some overall wear. The biggest issue I found is that some parts are showing wear and in a few places what looks like that beginning of shatter (please refer to photos). This is most apparent at the underarms, which also have some discoloration. Additionally there are some marks and spots on the dress and belt. The belt shows some wear as well. There is a lot of extra fabric in the hem, so you may be able to use some of that for future repairs as needed. The silk fabric feels like raw silk so it does have some texture naturally. Additionally, there are a few small other wear spots and loose threads, but these do not seem to impact wear.
