1950s Vintage Light Weight Blue Color Block Front Button Summer Day Dress with Pocket - Sm
This is a stunning example of a mid-century day dress. Overall the piece is light blue in color, but the top features a darker navy blue with the addition of some lovely embroidery detail. The dress even has a pocket! Buttons up the front with lovely blue faux-pearl buttons. And it still has the matching belt! Feels like cotton. The fabric is very light weight and somewhat see through when held up to the light so you may want to wear a slip underneath. There are no tags to indicate maker. Would likely best fit a modern Small. Model is modern size 4/6 for reference.

Measurements :
Bust: 34 inches
Waist: 27 inches
Hips: 38 inches
Length: 44 inches from back of collar, down
Sleeve Length: about 2.5 inches, though there is no shoulder seem to measure from
Good vintage condition - Some overall wear to item with a few small pulls to the fabric in places. A few faint and small marks here and there that did not come out with cleaning. Wear to the some of the buttons. A few loose threads here and there, most notably on the embroidery. Some wear to the inner seam allotment as well, though this should not impact wear. There is some wear to the belt, with some wear and faint marks to the fabric as well as wear and bending to the backing of the belt. Not a flaw but these are just how the dress was made; 1) you can see the stitching at the sleeves, 2) the hem is longer in the back than it is in the front - it appears to be symmetrical and I do not think it looked obvious when it was on the model. Fabric likes to wrinkle, so hang this up as soon as you receive it.
All measurements are approximate as they are taken flat - for garments specifically this means where applicable (bust, waist, hips) has been doubled unless stated otherwise. If you are uncertain about fit and/or need more measurements please ask! If it is provided in the listing, models and/or dress form sizes are used as a point of reference only. Please remember that all bodies are different so always defer to the measurements I provide and check them against your own, preferably on a similar style garment.
