A lovely 1950s classic, but in a pale pale green (something I have never seen before on these style dresses! The lovely creamy lace sits overtop a pale green fabric, giving the dress and bolero an overall pale green appearance. Its absolutely stunning. The dress features a drop waist and the addition of some lovely green velvet straps. The micro bolero is comprised of the same fabric and has the most unique shape - I particularly love the back! The dress zips in the back with a metal zipper and the bolero is simple a pull on piece, there are no closures to it. Label in dress is for Young Modes. The lace fabric feels like cotton while the underlay green fabric feels like a type of taffeta. The set would likely best fit modern size Extra Small or possibly a Small. For reference model is modern size 4/6 and while it technically fit but felt a bit snug overall in the bodice. Dress form is modern Extra Small for reference.

Dress Measurements:
Bust: 32 inches
Natural Waist: 26 inches
Drop Waist (where seam is): 28 inches
Hips: relatively open given style
Length: about 45 inches (from top of shoulder, down)
Bolero Measurements :
Bust: about 36 inches (no closure)
Length: about 12 inches (from shoulder at seam, down)
Sleeve Length: about 5 inches (there is no shoulder seam to measure from)
Good to Fair Vintage Condition- Presents absolutely beautifully and I would say its definitely still wearable! But there is some overall wear to pieces. Most notably, while the look of this set has greatly improved after multiple soaks and cleaning sessions, some yellow and discoloration still remain on both the dress (at the underarms especially) and the bolero in multiple places (hence the “fair” designation). I have tried my best to demonstrate this in the photos, but it was difficult. There is some wear to the inner seam allotments and a few loose threads that do not seem to impact wear. Some wear to the velvet straps. The stiff hemming underlay portions (I believe this is called “horsehair” because of the braid used to create the stiff material) shows on the edges of the skirt hem in places. Additionally the green fabric at the straps and the the edges of the jacket also shows or peaks through sometimes. Not a flaw, but I believe the velvet at the straps was a later addition.
All measurements are approximate as they are taken flat - for garments specifically this means where applicable (bust, waist, hips) has been doubled unless stated otherwise. If you are uncertain about fit and/or need more measurements please ask! If it is provided in the listing, models and/or dress form sizes are used as a point of reference only. Please remember that all bodies are different so always defer to the measurements I provide and check them against your own, preferably on a similar style garment.
