1960s Vintage Light Sky Blue Fit & Flare Lace and Chiffon Party Cocktail Dress - XS to Sm
This lovely early 1960s light blue classic fit and flare dress would be perfect for any spring or summertime party or gathering! The dress features a lace bodice with ¾ length sleeves and what feels like a nylon chiffon overlay in the matching blue that gathers at the waist and continues into the skirt. To give it the right flare, the dress has an attached tulle underskirt. The dress zips in the back with a metal zipper. There are no labels, just a union tag found inside that garment. The dress would likely best fit between a modern size Extra Small and a Small. For reference model is modern size 4/6 and it did fit but felt a bit snug in the waist on her. Dress form is modern Extra Small for reference.

Dress Measurements:
Bust: about 34 inches from flat lay (model is a 34 b for reference and it seemed to fit fine with bullet bra)
Waist: just under 26 inches from flat lay
Hips: relatively open given flare style
Length: 41 inches (from top of shoulder, down)
Sleeve Length: 15 inches
Good Vintage Condition- Some slight overall wear to fabric which includes a small repair found near the back hem seam as well as a few scattered pulls and teeny pinholes in the nylon. There may be a faint discoloration to the lace overall, but I honestly cant tell for sure. There is some yellowing to the lace exterior at the underarms as well as to the inside of the garment at the underarms. Some additional marks that did not come out with cleaning, including spots and what looks like some faint red pen lines near the hem. There is some wear to the inner seam allotments as well as a few loose threads- neither of these things seem to impact wear at all. I could not find any issues with the tulle underskirt. The fabric does like to wrinkle and sometimes the bows seem to fold over - so I recommend hanging this right away!
All measurements are approximate as they are taken flat - for garments specifically this means where applicable (bust, waist, hips) has been doubled unless stated otherwise. If you are uncertain about fit and/or need more measurements please ask! If it is provided in the listing, models and/or dress form sizes are used as a point of reference only. Please remember that all bodies are different so always defer to the measurements I provide and check them against your own, preferably on a similar style garment. If you need more information about my measurements and vintage sizing please refer to my FAQs section under my Shop Policies page and ask me, I am here to help!!
