1960's Vintage Saks Fifth Avenue MOD Black Cozy Velvet-like Dress - XS
An amazing heavy weighted black velvet-like 1960’s party dress - perfect for winter gatherings and parties! The fabric is super warm and has a crushed look to it. I am not really sure what the fabric content is, but it is very heavy and almost resembles the 60s Faux Fur coat material. Dress is lined - sleeves are not. The dress zips up the back and the tag says Saks Fifth Avenue. Buttons in front are just decorative. Best fits size Extra Small. Model is a modern 4/6 for reference. While model could technically fit into it, we want to note that the arms and shoulder were very tight - she could not move her arms very much. Photo provided of shoulder measurement. Good vintage condition - Overall expected wear to the garment. There is some wear to the fabric, including some areas of crushing (beyond the texture already present). Some discoloration on the shoulder as well as the inner lining. Minor scratches/wear to buttons. A few loose threads that do not seam to impact wear. Paint on Talon zipper is worn.
