1960s Vintage Vera Maxwell Navy Blue and White Ruffled Collar Dress and Coat Set - Sm to Md
This is a beautiful spring transitional dress and coat set. The coat is perfect to layer with in the chilly mornings. And the shorter sleeve dress is great for once it warms up. The lovely colors and deep cut ruffled neckline are so elegant. And the white and blue silk patterned ruffles are just so fresh! The outer shell fabric of the jacket and dress feels like a brushed and woven silk or possibly silk-wool blend containing mostly dark blue woven threads with the occasional lovey touch of black! There is a bit of shine to it as well, indicating some other fabric is woven in I think. The white patterned fabric feels like silk. Both the dress and jacket are fully lined. The dress zips up the back, the coat buttons up the front. While the coat itself does not have ruffles, the dress ruffles show when the coat is worn! Tag says “Vera Maxwell”. This would best fit a modern Small or Medium, but please read measurements! For reference, model is modern size 4/6 and dress form is a modern medium.

Good Vintage Condition - There is some overall wear to both pieces. The dark blue area has some overall wear and pilling/pulls, though it is more of a brushed look anyway so its not too noticeable from afar (I have provided multiple images of this to demonstrate this as best as I could). Faint marking/discoloration as well as yellowing to the white silk portion, especially at the ruffle. I was able to lighten it a lot, but not get it out entirely. There is one small area of shredding to the white ruffled collar of the dress at about the top left shoulder (please see last photo). There are also some underarm markings/bleaching that I could not fix for the dress. A few small loose threads that don’t impact wear. There looks to be a ripped out tag in the dress as well.
