RARE 1940s Vintage Cream or Off White Roller Skating Costume Mini Circle Skirt - Sm

$179.00

An absolutely stunning and unique little mini circle skirt - I found it within a collection of 1940s roller skating costumes!!! It is a full circle skirt which is best for that optimal twirl while skating! It was originally intended to be worn with cute ruffled shorts underneath - unfortunately the shorts that came with it were in awful shape and will not be sold with the piece. This skirt appears to be handmade, though of course made well. There are no labels, but it does have a metal Talon side zipper. Fabric feels like cotton. It would likely best fit s a modern Small. Model is modern size 4/6 for reference.

Measurements :

  • Waist : 27 inches

  • Hips: open given its a circle skirt

  • Length: about 15 tov 16 inches (depends where you measure as the hem is a bit longer in back I believe)

Good vintage condition - Some overall wear to the piece. There are a few minor marks and spots of discoloration. For the most part this is not obvious to the eye from afar - I only noticed when examining up close, especially when holding the waist up close to the hem, where it was a bit more obvious that the waist was yellowed a bit. There are also a few marks, including slightly bleached marks to the skirt that did not come out with cleaning and/or were difficult to capture on camera - though I tried my best, they are just too faint. Some small pulls and snags to the fabric here and there. And the hooks and snap closure at the waist were added by myself as there was nothing there when I found the piece. The zipper works, but paint is coming off. Not a flaw per se- just how it was made - the hem is a clearly hand sewn and a tad bit wavy (I only noticed it when it was laid flat)

All measurements are approximate as they are taken flat - for garments specifically this means where applicable (bust, waist, hips) has been doubled unless stated otherwise. If you are uncertain about fit and/or need more measurements please ask! If it is provided in the listing, models and/or dress form sizes are used as a point of reference only. Please remember that all bodies are different so always defer to the measurements I provide and check them against your own, preferably on a similar style garment. If you need more information about my measurements and vintage sizing please refer to my FAQs section under my Shop Policies page and ask me, I am here to help!!
