RARE 1940s Vintage Forever Young Rich Chocolate Brown Crepe Dress Jacket and Belt Set - Sm to Md

$189.00

A hard to find set - 1940s matching dress AND bolero jacket with the original belt! The lovely piece would make a great winter and fall staple. Dress zips at the side and the back of the neck with a metal talon zipper. Dress also features shoulder pads. The jacket has no closures. The fabric feels like crepe rayon and the pieces are not lined. Labeled for Forever Young. Would likely best fit a modern Medium, possibly a Small for a less fitted look and given the belt, but please see measurements. The model is modern size 4/6 for reference and it fit very comfortably with a loose bloused look, like what is common in the 40s - I do wonder if this is the intended look - so just please look at the measurements! Please also note that the dress is a pull over piece, so keep this in mind when assessing fit.

Measurements of Jacket:

Good vintage condition - Overall wear to pieces. There are a few marks and areas of discoloration to the pieces found. This was hard to capture on camera, though I tried my best. There appears to be a few areas demonstrating where the dress was let out a smidge. This is noted at the seams at the hips as there is some hand stitching present and creases despite cleaning and steaming the item. Sleeves of dress have been let out and lengthened a hair as well by prior owner. There are a few other areas with hand stitching found on the garment, though that is not really a flaw in my opinion, just how it is. Some loose threads to the piece, especially to the raised embroidery or cording of the collar, but nothing seems loose. Wear to the inner seam allotments. Wear to the belt. Wear, slight stiffness, and marks to shoulder pads. Crepe fabric does like to wrinkle, so hang this as soon as you receive it!

All measurements are approximate as they are taken flat - for garments specifically this means where applicable (bust, waist, hips) has been doubled unless stated otherwise. If you are uncertain about fit and/or need more measurements please ask! If it is provided in the listing, models and/or dress form sizes are used as a point of reference only. Please remember that all bodies are different so always defer to the measurements I provide and check them against your own, preferably on a similar style garment. If you need more information about my measurements and vintage sizing please refer to my FAQs section under my Shop Policies page and ask me, I am here to help!!
