RARE 1960s Vintage The Needle Craft Atlantic City Boardwalk Pastel Pink Sequin & beaded Sleeve Blouse - Sm

$119.00

Absolutely stunning light pink 60s blouse with the perhaps some of the most delicate and lovely sequined sleeves I have ever seen. The sleeves and collar appear to be two layers of chiffon that have been hand stitched with sequins and beads. The blouse buttons in back and features snaps at the wrist for closure. There is also some snaps in the back of the collar. Fabric of sleeves and collar is chiffon. Fabric also feels like a silk (possibly a blend) for the body of the piece. Label is for the famous “The Needle Craft “ of the Atlantic City Boardwalk. It would likely best fit a modern size Small, but please see measurements. Model is modern size 4/6 and is wearing a bullet bra in photos for reference. The fit seems good on her.

Measurements (flat measurements are pictured)

  • Bust: 36 inches (model is a 34B but wearing a bullet bra).

  • Waist 29 inches

  • Hem : about 38 inches (there are slits here so its an approximation

  • Length: 20 inches from shoulder down

  • Sleeve Length: 20 inches

Good to Fair Vintage Condition- Due to the delicate nature of the silk sequin sleeves on this piece, it is being sold AS FOUND and priced accordingly! The piece presents beautifully and seems to be wearable as is but would likely be best to be worn for costume or simply to use it as a study piece as the sleeves and collar just seem super-duper delicate to me. There are some areas of yellowing and discoloration as well as a few spots found on the piece. The most obvious of this to me is at the collar - the chiffon and the sequins right at the fold of the collar are very discolored, but to my eye, given that it is right at the fold of the cowl its not as obvious when worn as if it had been a flat collar instead (thankfully!!). There is also some wear/ very small shattering to the chiffon in this same area of the collar. Some faint marks to buttons and around button holes. I am sure just given the sheer number of sequins some are missing or loose, but I could not find any evidence that any were falling off at present nor could I find any obvious areas were they were missing where it was not intended at time of garment being made (like the seams). A few loose threads here and there, but nothing that seems like it impacts wearability. Fabric has a brushed effect, but I believe this is intentional.

All measurements are approximate as they are taken flat - for garments specifically this means where applicable (bust, waist, hips) has been doubled unless stated otherwise. If you are uncertain about fit and/or need more measurements please ask! If it is provided in the listing, models and/or dress form sizes are used as a point of reference only. Please remember that all bodies are different so always defer to the measurements I provide and check them against your own, preferably on a similar style garment. If you need more information about my measurements and vintage sizing please refer to my FAQs section under my Shop Policies page and ask me, I am here to help!!
