UNIQUE 1950s 1960s Vintage Green & Blue Striped Front Button Summer Day Dress with Pockets - Xs to Sm
This is a stunning example of a mid-century day dress. The fun stripes are in the colors of turquoise blue and various shades of green, creating a fun and bright overall look thats just perfect for summer!! My favorite feature of the dress though is the large overlapping pockets on the skirt - they are just so unique and fun. “Pocket” on chest is not functional, it is just a flap. Buttons up the front with lovely green buttons, but also has a hook closure at the waist. Fabric feels like cotton. There is a tag, but it is worn so I cannot tell the maker. Would likely best fit a modern Small, possibly an Extra Small. Model is modern size 4/6 for reference and waist was a smidge tight, but still fastened.

Measurements :
Bust: 36 inches max; model is 34b and is shown wearing a bullet bra in the images which seemed to fit the dress darting nicely.
Waist: just under 26 inches
Hips: relatively open given the style
Length: 38 inches from back of collar, down
Sleeve Length: about 7 inches, though this is with the current cuff, so you could cuff it longer or shorter.
Good vintage condition - Some overall wear to item. The biggest thing I noted was that there is some overall color fade to the piece, as though its been well loved and washed many times- see up close images. There are a few small and faint marks to the piece that did not come out with cleaning. Some wear to the seam allotments, as expected, but this should not impact wear. Wear to tag. Some wear to some of the button holes, evidence of some small past mends to the button holes and elsewhere. A few loose threads that do not seem to impact wear at all. I personally added the buttons to the dress as there were only 4 remaining ones when I found the piece. So the buttons on it presently are not original to the piece. One small pin hole found. Fabric likes to wrinkle, so hang this up as soon as you receive it.
All measurements are approximate as they are taken flat - for garments specifically this means where applicable (bust, waist, hips) has been doubled unless stated otherwise. If you are uncertain about fit and/or need more measurements please ask! If it is provided in the listing, models and/or dress form sizes are used as a point of reference only. Please remember that all bodies are different so always defer to the measurements I provide and check them against your own, preferably on a similar style garment.
