1940s 1950s Vintage Shirley Lee Juniors Red Velveteen and Cream Flocked Velvet Dress - Juniors or XXS to XS
A gorgeous Shirley Lee Dress. This late 40s or early 50s dress could become holiday party perfection. The soft red velvet or velveteen bodice is complimented by the buttery cream satin skirt and flocked velvet flower details. There is even a matching belt. Zips up the side with metal zipper, should have closures on the back as well (something will need to be added). Would likely best fit a juniors size or an Extra Extra small or Extra Small. Dress form is a modern size 0. Model is modern 4/6 and as you can see it does not zip up all the way on her. Zipper does work! Please see measurements.

Fair vintage condition - Presents beautifully and I think its wearable as is if you find a closure for the back. The hook has no eye. The neck closure area is basically just two button holes at the nape of the neck so honestly a sweater clip may be perfect! Though perhaps you could use a ribbon or necklace instead. There is some general, all over wear - some marks and tiny holes in various places (see the numerous photos). Some slight wear to seems. The skirt portion has some yellowing and discoloration throughout. It looks as though the flocking has worn off many of the flowers on the skirt. Some pulls and loose threads to dress. The inside the dress also has some wear and there is also discoloration and marks on the inside too. There is also some wear to the belt ribbon with some fraying. Still wearable I think and beautiful (and I have NEVER seen one like it!). May be best for costume or study.
